Minor Setbacks

After feeling great for the past 3 or 4 days we suffered a minor set back last night here at Casa de Awesome Baby.

I 'A-Typed' myself back into bedrest for a couple of days. To be honest, I didn't even think I was doing all that much but my body....she is boss and she thinks otherwise.

At least the midwives are coming for a visit today so they can check me out. J had to take a sick day from work (fuck.) and we're thanking our lucky stars that my sisters will be here on Wednesday and Thursday.

My pity party last night was spectacular especially since it was seasoned with a dash of impotent rage induced temper tantrum. Pretty. At least some mileage was made on the alpaca bunting for Fenner, at this rate she'll fit it for a week before she grows out of it.

listen- from now on- you totally get to have tantrums and blame them on hormones....(you just change the name- from post partum to pms... ) sure- eventually people catch on- but they are usually too afraid to confront;)

having a baby is rough. Being a mom is rough. but you can do it. I promise;) ('cause if I can survive it without killing anyone --- that is absolute proof that you can;)

Oh, nooooooes! Take care of yourself and if you need some company/help early next week just give me a holler.

As Tracey said having a baby is rough and so is being a Mum. If there is ever a time to be gentle with yourself and take full advantage of all those people offering to help it would be now.

Sorry to hear about the setbacks - it's great that you will have your sisters around Wed/Thurs.

Spectacular sized tantrum last night? Excellent. Go big or go home, dude. I have come to expect nothing less than spectacular from you, dearheart, in all things.

The pity party and tantrum fest is totally natural right now. Between you, the hormones and the steep ass learning curve you and Fenner are both on which robs you of sleep, these things are going to happen.

You're doing great, and we love you.

Tantrums are okay. Mothering is tough work. Take all the help you are offered and take it easy. Hang out in bed with Fenner and snuggle.

Hugs to you too.

If you need anything, let me know.

Unfortunately no one tells you that Post-partum recovery is the WORST! I was sore for 3 months afterwards - I never used the boppy for bf'ing - it was my sitting pillow! It will go away in time and you will be able to properly enjoy the new little one!

ah man that sounded awful - sorry! But do take time, don't do too much and snuggle with the little one! laundry and anything else can completely wait - eat, sleep and feed the babe; Only.

Do what you have to do and don't do what you don't. So, if a tantrum is called for, then go right ahead. If huge quantities of ice cream are called for, then...well, you get the drift. Being a new mom ain't easy and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something. Probably claiming it will make your life easier. When in reality it will break down, cost money to fix and cause another tantrum. Not that tantrum in and of themselves are bad. Sometimes they are just the ticket.

Take care.

You're a very strong person Jen. Choosing to accept help that's offered is a strong thing to do.
What a lucky girl Fenner is to have you.

Tantrum away. Hormones will make you rage, and then sob hideously 2 seconds later. That crap people feed you about the Hallmark commercials is true. I defied the day, and promptly found myself doing it.
I love you and hear Fenner is just stupendous according to your own Mommy (from my Mommy).
Hugs and Kisses.

Third trimester sucks. In England until very recently one was considered legally insane six weeks either side of birth -- which, while patronizing, was amusing until one tried to sign for a car or something else legal.

Got a copy of Operating Instructions? Nobody's crazier than our Annie, and she's funny, too. Borrow Steph's. Hugs.
