Thanks so much for all the comments. I have to say that all of my hopes and wishes are coming true - Jason and I are having a little person with it's own mind and it's own agenda. I understand that the parenting of such people can be very difficult what with the questioning of authority, critical thinking and need for independance. Guess this is just a warm up for what's to come. Tough decisions and conversations.
Clearly, our baby will not be susceptable to peer pressure and other people's agendas. There is a little bit of sarcasm in this post but that's just due to being a little irritated with other grown ups.
We're going out for lunch with my parents and am looking forward to being a daughter not a mother one last time - I plan on being very demanding about snuggles and being mothered. Tonight Jason and I will be seeing Death at a Funeral (it was superseded by the castor oil) then we're going to a swanky wine bar for wine...mmm delicious wine!
It's a grown up night. See y'all on the flipside!

I say milk that being a daughter one last time for all it's worth! After this you will cease to exits as it will be all grandbaby all the time until they need a fresh bum!
As the Mum of an "independent spirit", I have to say they give you plenty of memories/blackmail!

orgasmic sex- the only thing that actually works for bringing babies.... or so I hear- since I've had 3 c-sections.... let's just say didn't exactly work for me;)

I was so desperate when I went over that I tried gin (pitocin in them berries) and warm baths. Which might explain a lot, come to think of it...
Waiting is so hard, and yet you are in such good spirits, well done.
Assertive, free-thinking, willful children can be a chanllenge to parent, but what lovely adults they make. A child to parent would be useful at this point, but let's not split hairs.

Adult night sounds like just the thing! As I understand it, kids hate it when their parents try to get "alone time" together. Ahem. so perhaps this will convince pork bun to take action...
